At the Beach - later morning
Angela realized that Embry and his friends were getting held up doing something, so she grabbed Bella's arm. "Well since the boys aren't heading this way, why don't we go do some exploring on our own. They can either catch up with us, or we'll grab them when we get back. I really want to see some of the tidal pools." she said. "Plus, we won't have to sit here with everyone else making small talk!" she whispered into Bella's ear quietly.

Angela started walking away from the crowd to where the tidal pools would be. She kept a very slow pace so that she and Bella could talk and wanted to make sure that Bella wouldn't hurt herself walking. She hadn't known Bella that long, but it was already abundantly clear that she was capable of fascinating acts of clumsiness and had no desire to see her hurt today. This was supposed to be fun.

"So Edward is out with his brothers this weekend?" she asked conversationally, occasionally grabbing Bella's arm when she thought she might slip. The rocks were a bit wet.

Bella nodded. "Yes. Apparently it was a trip that had been in the planning for a long time. It's why he couldn't come with us today -- though I know he wanted to."

Angela nodded as they came up to one of the tidal pools. There were star fish and sea urchins in the small pool. She reached down to pick up the starfish.

"That's too bad he couldn't be here today. You're the first person that's even thought of inviting the Cullen's. Most just stay out of their way, but I'm glad you talk to them. I'm just too shy to really talk to much of anyone really."

"Edward is really sweet, and so is his sister, Alice," Bella said reaching down to feel the water. "I'm shy, too, and if it wasn't for how nice they've been to me, I probably wouldn't be able to to talk much," she admitted.

Angela smiled. "I think Alice is absolutely fascinating. I keep trying to figure her out because I'm always curious about her. Plus she's really smart and I've noticed she loves to read." she said. "We'd probably get along great if I ever actually talked to her."
